A 9-cost (7 upgraded) AoE 33-damage nuke whose cost drops by 2 for every Ethereal card played this combat. The April 2026 patch pushed the base cost from 6 to 9 (upgraded 7), so the Ethereal count needed to zero it out went up. Unupgraded needs around 5 Ethereal plays (9 → 0, 4-5 depending on rounding), upgraded needs roughly 4 (7 → 0, 3-4).

Previously 3 Ethereals brought it to 0, but now deeper Ethereal deck density is required. Veil Piercer chaining free Ethereals to ramp the counter matters even more than before. The upgrade gap (9 → 7) is significant too, so upgrade priority has risen.

Rating: S-tier (ultimate Ethereal-deck finisher, upgrade and aim for 4 Ethereals to zero it)

• Pile on Analyze, Defiance, Blasphemy and other Ethereals first, then drop Banshee's Cry
• Veil Piercer lets you spam 0-cost Ethereals to rack up the counter while saving energy
• Upgraded cost 7 = 4 Ethereals to hit 0 cost, making upgrade a priority
• Same-turn Pull from Below shares the Ethereal counter, so both cards peak together

• Veil Piercer: zeroes Ethereal cost. The efficient way to farm the Banshee's Cry counter
• Analyze: Ethereal that draws 3. Each play shaves 2 off Banshee and refills your hand
• Pull from Below: Ethereals × 5 damage Attack. Share the counter for a dual-finisher turn
• Blasphemy: 13-17 damage Ethereal Attack. Shaves cost and hits at the same time
